The idea to restart Dungeon Keeper via Kickstarter has been in the air for a long time. But while the authors of that great game are pondering and wasting time, more and more developers take their variation on the topic “I am bad, I am sitting underground, spent over gold and tormenting good heroes”.

Paradox Interactive, for example, today has two projects in production at once, which can be called the heirs of Dungeon Keeper to one degree or another. A Game of DWARves is more or less close to the covenants of the original: there is no direct management of subordinates, and the player must constantly monitor the mood of the units. But it is not that funny, and even about gnomes, and not about demons and demons. Naturally, resources are needed for the call and content of units: mana, gold and food. You can get this not only in the dungeon and in special rooms (where they will allow to convert and exchange resources), but also in the surrounding villages located on the surface. There will also be some quest characters and objects. Accordingly, at any moment we will be able to raid, sending demon detachments to the surface.

He will beat, spit spells, cast auras that increase the characteristics of neighboring allies, and generally behave like a typical RPG hero. Fortunately, the demon will have a scale of experience, levels and the ability to improve in one of three specializations – a magician, commander or warrior. By the way, units are also developing: their weapons and armor have three upgrade levels.

Finally, the French do not forget about multiplayer. Impire will have the opportunity to take a campaign in a cooperative for four people (there are no details on this score) and fight each other in such regimes as the “king of the mountain” and “capture of the flag”. In this case, two teams of two players in each will be formed. One will gain access to the capabilities and units of demons, the other will perform on the side of the undead. As the authors promise, depending on the gameplay fraction, it will vary quite noticeably. Play for "good" basically cannot.

It is clear that in this form Impire can hardly be called the real heir Dungeon Keeper. The French make a more modern and dynamic game, with emphasis on the plot, action, pumping and multiplayer.
